Financing of the FASFC

The operational costs of the Food Agency are covered in part by contributions and fees due by operators with activities in the food chain and subject to control by the Agency..

Fees (FR) are related to the rendering of services. They are amounts that must be paid for services rendered, such as the issuing of certificates, controls on request or audits.

Contributions (FR) are due on a yearly basis by all sectors that are active in the food chain or where the Agency conducts control missions. The contributions must cover part of the expenses of the control programme of the Agency and of the cost of BSE- tests (BSE : bovine spongiform encephalopathy – mad cow disease).
