Procedure for the request of an opinion Printable version   |   Last update on 03.05.2022

The Scientific Committee can be consulted by the Minister in charge, the Chief Executive Officer or the crisismanager of the Agency. Questions from third parties (professional associations, private companies, civil services, …) are first submitted to the Chief Executive Officer who will judge the relevance of the request for opinion. The Scientific Committee may also emit self-tasking opinions.

Three types of request for opinion exist :
  • a request for formal opinion (including the accelerated procedure)
  • a request for opinion about a self-checking guide
  • a request for urgent consultation (in case of a crisis within the food chain).
